AfricaSeeds (former Africa Seed Network - ASN) has received the mandate from the African Union Commission (AUC) to ensure and coordinate the implementation of the African Programme for Seeds and Biotechnology (ASBP), has now become the implementing agency for the AU seed program. Considering a request for accommodation of the Forum for African Seed Testing (FAST) as a close partner, sister agency under AUC and a subsidiary agency in ASBP implementation, the Board discussed a suitable arrangement in the organogram to reflect that relationship and agreed that FAST would need to appear in one of four boxes (instead of the former three) that are directly under the charge of the Programs Manager.

 

However, the connecting link will be in a broken line instead of a solid line to reflect that FAST is a close partner but remains an autonomous entity with its own structure, governance and resources.
