Our mission

 

The Forum for African Seed Testing  shall be committed to promoting uniformity in seed quality testing and quality assurance thus enhancing free seed trade in Africa and farmers’ access to quality seed for food security and economic growth. 

 

This shall be attained through capacity building of the seed laboratories, the utilization of accredited seed testing laboratories for the sampling and testing of seeds in trade and the development and promotion of uniform application of procedures of the evaluation of seeds. 

 

FAST shall also be committed to serving as a forum for interaction and information sharing among African seed testing officials and as a seed advisory centre in the continent.
